Do you know that moment when you’re on a hike or exploring the metroparks, and you reach a breathtaking destination where you exhale peace and serenity? That’s the feeling captured when you walk through the door here. The focal point of the room is an eye-catching stone fireplace, whose texture and tones create a perfect design palette of tranquility with shades of taupe, cream, and sand.
The designer selected a set of neutral sofas to create a spacious seating area and added throw pillows for texture and a pop of color. Throughout the space, varying textures bring warmth and an earthy richness to the room.
Continuing the theme of designing with elements of nature, a slate-colored leather ottoman sits between the sofas, and a luxurious monochromatic area rug adds a soft ripple feel beneath the feet.
To mirror the appearance and pattern of the rug, the designer chose stone-colored lamps. Statement chairs with geometric fine linen fabric and velvet lumbar pillows add contrast, while dark wood end tables complete the transitional design.
